Getting Acquainted with Woody and Winnie

Here are my latest watercolors. I am getting acquainted with ways to represent Woody, the canine on the right, and Winnie, on the left. These 3 sketches are in the order which I painted them, first on top, second, then third. I can see the improvement as I progressed.

Fun with Brittany Spaniel

Here are a couple of 5"X3.5" watercolors of "Jack."

I still haven't gotten a good sense of how to use the Canoscan I bought in 2002, wih my new MacMini. Had to use a work-around to even get it to scan. Scans don't show the subtle light blues. I have tweeked some of the settings, but still haven't succeeded in finding where the fix is.

Sketching in the park

Went sketching birds in Upper Bidwell Park by Horseshoe Lake this morning. The Snowgoose festival has offered some sketching classes. We had fun, and I learned some great tips on sketching birds in general.

These two sketches are the last of several pages of playing with pencils and brushes.

Christmas Card

Here is the front design of my Christmas cards for this year. Been printing, cutting, stuffing envelopes, addressing, etc., all day.

Here is the latest photo of the 7.5"x9.5" watercolor of Tolee.

Watercolor of White German Shepard

First two are 4.5"x3".

Third is 5"x3.5".

It is fun to see how they change as I practice. These three are in the same order as I painted them.
